Turner painted the English countryside at a timc when war with Napoleonic France gave new patriotiC and political meaning to historic landmarks. The age of Romanticism also saw historical novels bring castles, ruined abbeys andabandoned palaces back to lifc, rckindling forgotten associations in the Viewers' imaginations. Many of the buildings in Turner's paintings are now in the care of English Heritagc and deserve to be visited and seen afresh from such perspectives,as do thc pictures thcmsclvcs. This sclcction of his paintings,, provides a fascinating introduction for the intrepid or armchair traveller, complete with comparative photographs of the actual siteS. 刚上手觉得画册又小又薄，似显不值，翻开画册发现画面印制很令人满意，画幅因开本限制略显小，用放大镜看，天空及云彩的微妙变化都印刷出来了，空间感很好。不少画幅旁边附有原景的照片，和画幅对比来看，感觉画家笔下的画面更雄伟，能真切感受到画家还是在画自己的感受。照片上很一般的景致经画家的妙笔生花，使画面富有艺术审美价值，给人良好的启迪。总之印刷质量很好，但如果有更大开本的平装似乎更令人满意。
