《亨利六世》是莎士比亚早期创作的英国历史剧，其下篇内容概括亨利六世34岁到50岁(1455-1471)年间的英国历史。由于国王懦弱无能，王室家族之间的玫瑰战争继续进行，两派互有胜负，人民痛苦不堪。亨利六世终被推翻并谋杀，约克家族的爱德华胜利为王(爱德华四世)。其间出现战友倒戈、兄弟互斗的复杂情况。
