《Introduction of Civil Engineering》(土木工程概论)是为学习土木工程专业及相关学科的中国学生提供的一部英文参考教材。 本书是为学习土木工程专业及相关学科的中国学生提供的一部英文参考教材。本书从不同的角度介绍了宽口径土木工程学科的若干分支领域,如建筑结构、桥梁、隧道、铁道、水工结构物与近海结构物、水利工程以及工程防灾等。专辟一章介绍了土木工程常用的材料。为了帮助新入门的学习对未来的职业生涯有所认知,本书的头两章对工程师与注册制度、工程师培养与专业教育的关系做了比较详细的解说。本书作者均为同济大学土木工程领域及相关学科的教授,具有丰富的教学、研究与工程经验。本书编写尝试了非经典教科书的方式,尽可能表达多样的风格,尽量少用过于冷僻的专业术语。在平易叙述的同时,将本领域常用的一些词汇有序的“引见”给读者。因此,具有高中英文程度,特别是通过英文高考的同学应不会觉得本书枯燥晦涩。 本书可作为大学本科土木工程概论课程的参考教材和阅读材料,也可供从事土木工程设计、研究的专业人员参考。

这本书在我看的英文和汉语的概论中,算是不错的,比较系统。但很遗憾,专门学这个专业的学生很难看懂!
