B: What is special about the Jade Buddha Temple?A: It was built in 1882 and houses two white jade statues of Sakya-muni from Burma. We will visit it tomorrow. B: And what is Yuyuan Garden famous for? A: This 400- year- old garden is famous for its ingenious architecture and exotic layout. It was originally a private garden of Pan Yuanduan, the govemor of Sichuan in the Ming Dynasty. The layout of the pavilions, terraces rockeries and ponds shows great originality in affording wide views in a small confined space. Buildings in the garden are ornamented with fine brick designs and woodcarving characteristic of the Southern architectural style of the Ming and Qing Dynasty. B: So when shall we visit it? A: The day after tomorrow. B: What other programs have you arranged for us?A: After a visit to the Yuyuan Garden in the morning, we will take a walk along the Nanjing Road, which is a prosperous commercial street similar to the famous Fifth Avenue of New York City.
