本书为国家级职业教育规划教材，由人力资源和社会保障部教材办公室组织编写。主要内容包括数控加工技术和数控维修技术专业英语两大模块，其中数控加工技术模块包括了数控机床安全文明生产操作规程，数控机床操作，数控编程，常用工量夹具的介绍，CAD技术应用和CAM技术应用专业英语等六个部分；数控维修技术模块包括了数控机床维修安全操作规程，数控机床维修与保养，数控机床机械结构组成，数控机床电气结构组成，典型数控系统(西门子802D)使用说明书和三坐标测量报告等六个部分专业英语。 本书精心选编了与数控专业相关的科技信息，涵盖了数控专业各个发展方向。选材时做到篇幅适中、图文并茂。本书每个教学单元都分为课文和阅读材料两个部分，并配有针对性的练习，书后还附有参考译文和练习答案。 本书为高等职业技术院校数控维修专业教材，也可作为成人高校、本科院校举办的二级职业技术学院和民办高校的相关专业教材，或作为自学用书。
