本教材选材于英美专业教材、论文和网站上的材料，语言地道、规范。主要包括：法律学，税法，财产法，知识产权法，婚姻法，宪法；计算机科学，互联网，多媒体，网络技术；市场学，市场营销，物流管理，国际贸易，电子商务，进出口贸易程序；会计学，财务会计，成本会计，会计要素，会计管理；金融学，银行服务，货币功能，银行信用，国际货币基金组织；管理学，管理层次，管理职能，人力资源管理等。 教材结构：本教材共40个单元，分四个部分，每部分10个单元。在语言和知识上依层次递进，第一部分每单元600词左右；第二部分每单元700词左右；第三部分每单元800词左右；第四部分每单元900词左右。每单元由以下部分构成：课文，生词，专业词汇和词组，练习。练习包括课文理解，词汇应用，词组互译，短文翻译。每单元附录为专业词汇。 本教材与大学英语四级衔接或配套使用，帮助学生完成从基础英语到专业英语或双语教学的顺利过渡。本教材的主要目的是促进学生从学习过渡到实际应用，提高学生的英语应用能力。
