Zhang Zhilu， born in Beijing in 1945， is a famous author of childrens literature in China. He is currently the deputy director of the Childrens Literature Committee affiliated to the Writers Association of China and a scriptwriter with the Film Group of China. He has published more than thirty books， including The Third Corps， To Whom the Cicada Sings， Illegal Wisdom and Do You Have Mouse Pencils？ He has written the scripts for ten films， two of them being Beibei， the Static Boy and Mother Has Not Been Away. Black Antelope， one of his short stories， has been included in the national Chinese language textbook for middle schools in China.
