本书内容较为广泛，全书由七大部分组成，涉及经济学基础知识、国际贸易、国别地区经济、证券、国际投资、工商管理、旅游，共30课。每课由课文、词汇表、注释、练习四部分组成。课文主要来自一些英语的原版期刊；词汇表主要列出课文中出现的经济术语和一些其他重点词语；注释较为详尽，包括一些经济术语的解释和相关的背景知识介绍，有助于学生掌握相关的经济知识和理解课文；练习形式较为丰富，能较好地帮助学生检测和巩固所学知识。教程主要以阅读文章的形式出现，并辅以必要的讲解。《经贸英语教程》可作为高职高专英语专业二年级或三年级学生拓展知识面，提高阅读能力的读本，也可作为财经专业学生的英语读本。
