阅读是一种重要的学习技能。大量的阅读可以有效促进英语听、说、 读、写能力的全面发展，是学生学习英语的主要途径。大量的阅读对提高阅读速度、增加词汇量、扩大知识面也起着重要作用。 当前英语教学改革的目标主要是提高学生对语言的实际运用能力。但由于我国目前英语教学中缺少语言实际环境，学生听、说能力的发爱到一定的限制，所以阅读显得尤为重要，它为学生学习英语提供了良好的语言实践和获得语感的条件。 首先，阅读可以提高学习兴趣。在英语学习中语法是较为枯燥难懂的，而结合课外阅读中的一些生动活泼、妙趣横生的小故事，可以引发学生的想象力，在阅读中产生浓厚的学习兴趣，使学生在轻松愉快的阅读过程中增强语感，扩大词汇量，掌握句型变化，进一步加强对语法知识的学习。 其次，通过大量的阅读，不仅可以扩大知识面、开阔视野，而且使学生提高阅读速度，在循序渐旱中增咈对文章的理解力，提高获取信息的准确度。 为了全面提高广大中学生的阅读能力和学习兴趣，我们组织了教学第一线在兴趣的培养和能力的提高，初三版重在解题能力和英语综合素质的提高。并配有大量精选的中考试题。

" A well-dressed man heard it and asked， "What kind of miracle does your brother need？ Idon t know， "she answered with her eyes full of tears. "He s really sick and mum says he needsan operation. But my daddy cant pay for it， so I have brought all my money. " "How much do you have？" asked the man. " $ 1.11， but I can try and get some more，"sheanswered. "Well， what a luck， "smiled the man. " $ 1.11， the price of a miracle for little brother. " He took up the girl s hand and said， "Take me to where you live. I want to see your brotherand meet your parents. Let s see if I have the kind of miracle you need. " That well-dressed man was Dr. Carlton Armstong， a famous doctor. The operation was suc-cessful and it wash t long before Andrew was home again.

孩子学校老师指定的书籍，不错。
这本与七年级的相比，难度大多了，孩子读着费劲，读不下去了。
