王名楷教授，淡江大學英文系所教授，美國南依利諾大學（Southern Illinois University）戲劇博士。 作者熱愛棒球，曾多次擔任美國少棒的助理教練。旅居美國三十餘年，對美國職棒大聯盟有豐富且深入的認識。 美國西伊大及南伊大，淡江大學英文系及西洋語文研究所，淡江大學實驗劇場總監，華梵大學英文系及東方人文研究所，開南大學人文社會學院院長，開南大學應用英語學系。
