上海论坛是在亚洲区域化与中国和平发展潮流下应运而生的，自2005年以来，上海论坛一直致力于从经济、社会、政治和国际关系等角度探讨亚洲道路。论坛至今已成功举办了七届，来自世界各地的一流学者为论坛贡献了自己的才智，仅政治与国际关系方面，论坛就收到优秀论文百多篇。苏长和主编的这本《全球化、亚洲区域主义与中国的和平发展》聚焦“亚洲的区域化与中国的和平发展道路”主题，从中选出论文二十篇，这些论文既有关注亚洲制度顶层设计问题的，也有探讨亚洲内部各种双边和多边关系对区域化影响的；既有研究外来因素在亚洲区域化进程中的作用，也有探讨一些国家内部政治发展与亚洲自身道路建设问题的，其中，大部分的论文均将中国作为重要的参照因素，以不同方式思考中国和平发展与亚洲区域化进程之间的关系。相信这些论文对帮助我们从新的起点上真正立足亚洲来思考亚洲，具有建设性的意义。
苏长和，1971年11月生，安徽巢湖人。苏长和1999年毕业于复旦大学国际政治系，获法学（国际关系）博士学位，1999年7月至2006年6月任教于复旦大学国际政治系，2006年7月至2011年6月任教于上海外国语大学国际关系与外交事务研究院。曾在美国伊利诺伊大学（UIUC）和瑞典隆德大学作访问学者。教育部新世纪优秀人才（2008年），上海市首届社科新人奖（2009），论著多次获得教育部高校人文社会科学优秀成果奖、上海市哲学社会科学优秀成果奖、上海市邓小平理论研究优秀成果奖。
