本书是美国作家马克·吐温的一部代表作品，也是《汤姆·索亚历险记》的续篇。故事讲述汤姆·索亚的好友哈克因为不堪忍受酒鬼父亲的虐待，又一心追求自由的生活，使出诈死之计后逃到密西西比河上。途中，他巧遇逃跑的黑奴吉姆，由此两人经历种种冒险，结下了深厚的友谊。最后，哈克帮助吉姆获得了真正的自由。
作者：（美国）马克·吐温（Mark Twain） 马克·吐温（Mark Twain，1835—1910），马克·吐温出生在美国密西西比河畔的一个贫穷乡村律师家庭。他当过排字工人，也做过水手和士兵，后来还跑过记者。《哈克贝利·费恩历险记》是马克·吐温的另一部作品《汤姆·索亚历险记》（The Adventures of Tom Sawyer）的姊妹篇。马克·吐温的文笔犀利幽默，文字清新有力，角度自然独特，被誉为“美国文学中的林肯”。
