　　《新视野大学英语泛读教程》分为1-4级，达到《课程要求》规定的一般要求层次的具体要求。
　　本书包括10个单元，供一个学期使用。每单元包括三篇文章(长度控制在800-1000词左右)，每篇文章均配有相关练习，具体有：
　　Passage A配套练习：Preview，Reading Skills，Reading and
Discussion。
　　Passage B配套练习：Preview，Reading Skills。
　　Passage C配套练习：Preview，Reading Skills，Translation。
　　Preview旨在培养学生的预测能力。作为重要阅读技巧之一，在仔细阅读之前通过标题、段首句等预测文章大意对理解文章大有裨益。
　　Reading
Skills是教材的主体练习模式，提供了词汇层面和篇章层面的各种阅读技巧，并将技巧训练融入每项阅读任务中，使学生在关注“读到了什么”的同时也学会了“怎么读”。
　　Reading and
Discussion提供与文章相关的讨论问题。Discussion为学生之间的交流和互动创造了条件，有助于提升阅读兴趣和批判性思维能力。Translation旨在强化阅读效果。翻译是对阅读理解的深层次考查，同时也有利于学生巩固知识，活用语言。
　　本书在设计上并不要求学生完成全部的练习，而是为个性化学习提供了空间。教师可以根据分类要求和因材施教的原则，选择某些练习由教师指导完成，某些练习由学生自主完成。学生可以根据教学安排进行有计划的自学，逐步提高阅读技能。
