《外国人学中国语2》拟出版英、法、西、德、日、阿、俄、韩等八个文版，供不同国家和地区的人在学习中国语的起始阶段使用。除分别用不同文字对课文进行翻译、注释和说明外，着重从语音系统、语法体系、交际习惯和国情文化背景方面对中国语和学习者的母语进行比较。 教材采用突出交际性原则的综合教学法。课文围绕一定话题领域，在特定的情景中展开交际，通过交际进行言语训练，并将相关的功能意念项目编织其中。 教材分两册。第1册以拼音作拐棍，以拼音带口语，进行交际训练。第2册课文汉字与拼音相结合，增加识记和书写汉字的任务。
