《社会研究基础》（The Basics of Social Research）是外研社为满足大学双语教学的需要推出的社会学精品原版教材系列中的一本。该教材由美国的社会学专家Earl Babbie撰写，是讲授社会学研究方法与技巧的经典基础性教程。全书共分为四个部分： １.社会学研究的基本概念、方法论和主要范式及社会研究的伦理。 ２.如何使一项研究变得可以实施——研究设计、概念量化、测量技术及抽样逻辑。 ３.搜集资料的主要模式——实验方法、问卷调查、定性的实地研究等等。 ４.数据研究中的定性和定量数据分析方法。 该教材为2002年第二版，内容深入浅出，案例丰富，循序渐进，便于学习和教学，适用于社会学专业和相关专业的本科高年级学生和研究生，也适用于社会科学研究者参考。
