《大学英语视听说》包括11个单元，每个单元围绕着一个主题对学生进行听说训练。《大学英语视听说》主要内容包括：①主题导入（Getting
Started）。导入的材料可能是相关的口语活动、主题讨论，也可能是音频、视频内容，目的是为了帮助学生练习与主题相关的知识和语言，激发学生的学习兴趣，为接下来的课堂听说活动做充分的准备。②影视、新闻片段学习。包括剧情介绍（Plot
Summary）：对该电影，电视剧集或新闻作大致的介绍，为读者提供背景知识，扫除文化障碍；场景介绍（Introduction to
the Selected
Scene）：介绍所剪辑的电影，电视片段的场景，为读者充分理解视频材料中的语言和内容做好准备：生词和文化背景介绍（New
Words，Phrases& Cultural
Notes）：包含电影、电视剪辑，新闻中所出现的生词、难词和体现出文化特点的词：练习（Exercise）：每个电影新闻片段后面均设计了练习，其形式多样化，具有趣味性。③口语交互活动（Interactive
Activities）：每单元设计了2个以学生为中心的口语交际活动，活动形式丰富且具有趣味性，目的是为了鼓励学生积极运用所学的语言和文化知识，同时提高他们的开创性思维能力。
《大学英语视听说》适合作为大学非英语专业学生、英语专业低年级学生的视听说教材，同时也为广大英语爱好者、自学者提供了一条快捷提高英语听说能力、丰富欧美文化知识的捷径。《大学英语视听说》提供的练习和视听光盘资料，既可供学习者课下练习，也可供教师在课堂使用。
