P： Good morning. I have always coughed and wheezed these days. I think maybesomething is wrong with my lung. D： OK， please take off your coat； let me listen to your lung. Please breathedeeply.， what other symptoms do you have else? P： I always feel breathless， and I have a feeling of chest tightness. D： Is the cough very bad? Much sputum? Any temperature? P： I had a bad dry cough. At the end of the coughing， I had some sputum. But Ihave no temperature. D： Oh， I see. You can put on your coat. Can you lie fiat? Do your lips appear blue? P： When the attack is severe， I can't lie flat. Both my lips and nails appear blue. D： According to your symptoms， it's asthma. P： Asthma? What's it? D： Asthma is a common disease of the respiratory system that affects the bronchiof the lungs. From time to time the airways constrict （become narrow） inpeople who have asthma. It has a high incidence during the spring and winter.Because of the inflammation and swelling of the airway， the patient's air tubeshave become narrow， resulting in difficulty in breathing. Asthma can start atany age， but it most commonly starts in childhood. At least 1 in 10 children，and 1 in 20 adults， have asthma. P： What causes asthma? D： Asthma is caused by inflammation in the airways. It is not known why theinflammation occurs. The inflammation causes airway to squeeze （constrict）.It is then more difficult for air to get in and out of the lung. This leads towheezing and breathlessness. P： And then， what should I pay attention to? D： Firstly， if you smoke and have asthma， you should make every effort to stop.And next， Asthma is not due to "nerves"， but such things as stress， emotionalupset， or laughing may trigger symptoms. What's more， don't keep pets， suchas pet cats， dogs， and horses. Animals do not trigger symptoms in most cases，but some people notice that their symptoms become worse when close tocertain animals. P： Thank you for your reminding， I will remember them. ……
