玛格丽特·德拉布尔（1939- ）是战后英国作家中最有成就的作家之一，同时也是从二十世纪中叶不断发展的女性主义运动中获取创作主题的女性小说家之一。《知识女性的愿景：玛格丽特·德拉布尔小说研究》选取了德拉布尔发表于1980年以前的早期作品中的三部小说进行分析研究。这三部小说分别为：《磨盘》、《瀑布》、《金色的世界》。它们分别描写了其女主人公在各自的人生阶段对于自我的追求。这些作品的焦点从关注中产阶级知识女性一直延伸到对各式各样不同的社会政治和道德困境的关注。鉴于国内对英国当代现实主义作家玛格丽特? 德拉布尔的研究才刚刚起步，我们对对现实主义作家德拉布尔及其作品的研究意义在于：在众多聚焦现代主义作家研究的今天，它不仅有助于我们对现代主义以外的作品加以关注，而且可以在一定程度上扩展国内对英国当代文学的研究范围。
